We started the day driving out of Prague toward Cesky Krumlov. The countryside is very pretty with rolling hills, forest groves amongst fields of grain, and the occassional little town here and there along the way. Our rental had to be turned in to a town before Cesky Krumlov so we hired a taxi for the last part of the journey.
The town is set on a bend in the river with a castle and tower above. All the medieval buildings are well preserved and we will have lots of exploring to do while we are here. This evening we had a quick stroll through the town after a dinner of traditional czech fare; Edward had the duck, Hana the goulash, Laurel the pork, all with different types of dumplings and cabbage... yum! Em stuck to pasta!
Our room is in a period building set above the river with a view across a park like area.
There is an early music festival starting on Friday so we hope to hear some great music while we are wandering around.
