While waiting for the tram we had a brief but amusing encounter with a Swedish family. When he heard we were from Victoria, a city near Vancouver, his first comment was "sorry about the hockey"! He also promised the Scandinavian players would do a better job for Canada next time... Had a second encounter a short while later with a young couple from Britain. She was in a wheelchair also and they have traveled extensively. Shared a few stories before parting ways.
Ended up at the Prague Castle complex with its impressive cathedral and amazing city views. Edward and the girls went up the clock tower; 287 winding narrow steps, to take in the view of Prague. The castle complex is immense and impressive and includes a restored section of small quirky houses where craftsmen of the day worked and lived. Later we made our way through part of the Jewish quarter and over to the Old Town Square with another wonderful church as well as the famous Astronomical Clock. We found the variety of architecture and building styles similar to Paris and equally impressive and well preserved in many parts.
Today was a warm 29 C. We have had great weather so far. Finished the day back at the hotel for dinner and then went for a short stroll down to the river where the broad, cobble paved boulevard, warm from the day’s waning sun, welcomed all to the evening sunset.

AMAZING photos!
ReplyDeleteVery amusing about the Swedish guy - at least he didn't say Sorry about your hooligans!
